Michael and Amy Jorge offer coaching and resources to help bring about physical homeostasis and mental clarity through the power of Breath and Meditation.

Individual appointments are offered in the comfort of your own home in the Cary, Raleigh and surrounding area, virtually on Zoom, or in the Cary Studio.

 

Small group workshops are also available for your own yoga studio, fitness groups or gyms, mental health leaders, etc. for instructors and/or your clients.

Breath-based
wellness

True Breathing is a holistic, breath-anchored wellness system based on the integration of Western medical science and the healing wisdom of the East. 

 

To understand why the breath must be the anchor to any system, consider the words of Dr. Arthur Guyton, who wrote the following in the world's bestselling physiology textbook:

"All chronic pain, suffering and diseases are due to a lack of oxygen at the cell level."  This concept is in full agreement with Eastern medicine, which has held for thousands of years that a lack of chi, or prana, both of which mean breath, is the root cause of all chronic disease.

In the 20th century, Dr. Konstantin Buteyko, a soviet engineer, physician, and researcher who was in charge of respiratory research for the Soviet Space Program rediscovered the healing power of the breath.  He noticed that training people to be more tolerant of carbon dioxide would increase cellular oxygenation and reverse or prevent up to 80% of chronic diseases.

Michael blends the gentle, subtle breathwork of Buteyko Method with a wide range of meditation and spiritual guidance tools to help people feel more relaxed, ease anxiety, reduce body pain, improve their overall wellness, and more.  As a husband and wife team, Michael and Amy also offer combined wellness services including massage therapy and health coaching.

Breathwork and guided meditations can be enjoyed all over the world via Zoom.  This is a great option for those who have very busy schedules, live outside of the Raleigh area, or just simply prefer to be in the comfort of their own home.

True Breathing is a Taoist term for a kind of subtle breathing. It was known in ancient China to still the mind and heal the body.

 

Modern science has revealed some of the mechanisms for how quieting our breathing can calm the mind and heal the body through improved circulation and increased oxygenation of our body at the cellular level.

 

I enjoy teaching this ancient healing practice, and explaining how it works in modern, scientific language.

 

True Breathing is very helpful for quieting the noisy minds of people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. Many people with chronic health conditions find relief with True Breathing.

 

And in its original application, True Breathing can be very helpful for entering advanced meditative states much more easily and quickly than is possible with mainstream meditative techniques.
